Aurora IPTV
Terms of Service
Effective date:
1. What Aurora is
Aurora IPTV (“Aurora”, “the app”) is a media player for Android. It helps you organise and play live TV, movies, and series from sources you provide — for example Xtream Codes, M3U URL, or M3U file, with optional XMLTV EPG. Aurora does not host, supply, sell, or curate channels, playlists, subscriptions, or streams.
2. Acceptance
By installing or using Aurora you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, uninstall the app and stop using the website. We may update these terms; the effective date at the top changes when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
3. Your content and your responsibility
Aurora follows a bring-your-own-content model. You are solely responsible for:
- Legality — ensuring providers, playlists, and streams you use are lawful where you live.
- Credentials— safeguarding URLs, usernames, and passwords you enter. Provider server addresses, usernames, and passwords stay on your device and are not uploaded to Aurora's servers.
- Rights — not infringing copyright, trademarks, or other third-party rights.
Aurora is not liable for content obtained through providers you configure. We do not endorse or control what any provider delivers.
4. Aurora Extra account and sync
Aurora Extra is an optional account-based feature for cross-device sync and web dashboard editing. You can use Aurora without creating an Aurora Extra account. Accounts are limited to 6 signed-in devices; remove old devices in the dashboard if you reach the limit.
Aurora Extra is currently free during a limited test period. We plan to introduce a paid subscription in the future, and billing, cancellation, and refund terms will be published before launch. Sync availability and server maintenance may change. We do not guarantee uninterrupted sync, real-time push to devices, or preservation of data if you breach these terms or fail to maintain your account. See our Privacy Policy for what is uploaded when you sync.
5. Backups and passphrases
Encrypted backup files and their passphrases are your responsibility. Aurora cannot recover a lost passphrase or a backup file you lose. Choose buckets carefully when exporting or restoring (settings, credentials, scrobbling tokens, and so on).
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Aurora to access, distribute, or store unlawful content.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app beyond what applicable law expressly permits.
- Misuse Aurora Extra, diagnostic, crash-reporting, update, or download APIs (for example automated flooding of
auroraiptv.app). - Redistribute modified APKs or circumvent access controls without written permission.
7. Third-party services
Optional integrations have their own terms. By enabling them, you also accept those terms where they apply:
Trakt token exchange and refresh are proxied through Aurora's servers. Watch history and scrobbling go to Trakt or SIMKL. TMDB receives metadata search queries. If you choose an external video player, that player's policies apply to playback outside Aurora. We are not responsible for third-party availability, accuracy, or data handling.
8. Accounts and data
- Local data can be deleted from Settings → About → Delete All Aurora Data or by uninstalling the app.
- Linked accounts (Trakt, SIMKL) must be disconnected on those services as well; see our data deletion page.
- Full categories of processing are in our Privacy Policy.
9. Diagnostics and updates
Basic crash diagnostics are sent automatically on app startup after a crash to help fix bugs. You can choose to send a fuller diagnostics report from within the app. The app may check auroraiptv.app for APK updates. Downloads from this site may be logged as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Parental controls and reminders
Optional PIN-based parental controls, hidden categories, and programme reminders are convenience features. They are not a guarantee that inappropriate content will be blocked or that reminders will always fire on every device. Supervision remains your responsibility, especially because all content comes from providers you configure.
11. Intellectual property
Aurora branding, UI, code, and website content are owned by Aurora IPTV or its licensors. Metadata and artwork from TMDB are subject to TMDB's terms. Open-source components are listed under Settings → About → Open-Source Licences.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
Aurora is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind — express, implied, or statutory — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant error-free operation, that any stream or provider will work, or that third-party metadata or EPG will be accurate or available.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aurora IPTV and its developers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, revenue, or access — arising from your use of the app or website, even if advised of the possibility. Our aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app or Aurora Extra (if any) in the twelve months before the claim.
14. Termination
You may stop using Aurora at any time by uninstalling the app and, if applicable, closing your Aurora Extra account. We may suspend or discontinue features or access at any time. Sections on your responsibility, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, and governing law survive termination.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
